

B O D Y Developing an intimate relationship with your body is one of the most important things that you can do. What does it mean to develop an intimate relationship with your body? It means that you choose to put aside self criticism in favor of self embrace. We live in a society that is all too frequently focused on how we measure up, how we compare to an elusive or impossible physical ideal, and what we can do to achieve bodily change. This type of body idealization and comparison is the enemy of intimacy. Intimacy means a close familiarity...an appreciation, and understanding predicated on deep acceptance and affection.
