You could be spending it with family, friends, pets, or even by yourself. Christmas, whether it's a magical or difficult day for you, is just *one* day. Like Marmite, you either love it or hate it, but you can choose what to do with it; devour that salty jar of mysterious goo or lob it in the bin. Some may say, "make the most of it, it's just one day," but you are allowed to do with it what you will. By all means, make the least of it. Above all, do what YOU want to do. It's important to make others happy, but remember to take time for yourself. Do something you love. You're important, too. Okay, enough with the mushy mushy.
