so finally here is my Gym update. i thought it would be fun to sum up how everything started and what i am doing now & what my plans are for the future. Everything started pretty much a year ago, when i was on holidays in crotia with my friend Laura (i only have one picture of myself during this time cause i felt so unconfortable taking any. i am the one with the donut). all of my friends there were somewhat fit and i felt really bad about having one of my all time highest weight. My friend Laura is now btw my personal trainer. In this holiday i decided i needed to change. but not like i always did, with changing with a 180, going from eating too much to eating barely anything and working out like a maniac while having no actual idea what i am doing. I promised myself to do baby steps. get new habits and start one step at a time. My first goal was to close my "move ring" (350kcal a day) EVERY DAY, which is an easy task since i have now 2 dogs to walk anyway. I started taking Mira for bigger walks. Once it felt normal to take her on 2x 45min walks a day, i decided to not diet but when i have a choice of food to make the "healthier one". eat rice and chicken instead of a burger in a restaurant, or a sorbet instead of a piece of cake. I did this till end of the year and i already felt better about myself, but the results weren’t great. I was happy tho since what i was trying here was to build a new lifestyle. In January 2022, i decided it was time to add in some more movement. Together with a IRL friend we started doing HIT workouts 2-3 times a week. Sadly that kinda stopped within 2 months, since we both lost the motivation. In March Laura and a group of girls from my community came up with the idea to start working out together every monday together via discord. we called us "never skip a monday". This was what changed everything for me. Laura made us all a plan of how much we should be eating, and taught us about how important it is to eat enough protein. not only to build muscle but also to dont be hungry all the time. this was probably the biggest thing for me. Beside of her changing my whole relationship with food, she also made us all a plan to work out too 2 days a week alone if we wanted to. I got fully hooked and started learning all the basics of traditional weightlifting from and with her. she also always implemented 15-20 of mobility/stretching before every workout which is so important and i only just now start to realise how how thankful i can be to have her as my senpai. lastly laura introduced me to crossfit almost 2 months ago and i finally found a type of sport that i find challenging, useful and fun. I also started to workoiut 4x a day now and i start to add some running in my routine. The workouts are more intense but shorter, i feel sore muscles in places i never thought i had and i learn how to push myself further than i ever had before in my life. in the times i workout, i am free of anxiety, overthinking and worrying about what deadlines i have. I have this 1h+ in my days that i am just in the present, and the only thing i worry about is if i will be able to finish this next set. Now not only my body & Lifestyle has changed in this last 12 month, but also my mental health has never been as good as in this very moment. I wanted to thank you all for following my journey, supporting me through thicc and thin. through my bad mental health days and me being hyper fixated on the sport. i know i dont stop talking about it, but this makes me so happy. even if most of you wont lift in the gym, thanks for always lifting my mood. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE <3
