Climbing a 6088m mountain is no joke ~ and we are 90% sure we will never do this again 🤣 From 6000 metres we began a mental battle with myself, “I can’t do it, I can do it, only a few more metres, 10 more steps, breathe, I can’t do it, I can do it” 😅 This was the most difficult thing we have ever put our bodies through ~ and one of the scariest treks we will probably ever experience. We had to walk on ice and rock ridges as thin as one foot with 90 degree drops on either side, ice climbing on glaciers that have 30m crevices, even though we had a guide it felt like an actual life or death situation if you take one wrong step. We started summiting at 12am in the morning yesterday with the moon lighting our way for the first 2 hours, it took us 7 hours to summit and 2 hours to climb back down to high camp and another 2 hours to base camp. We had to climb during the early morning hours to avoid avalanches and we have to walk fast down to avoid being burnt by the sun that reflects on the glacier covered mountain. You can’t even breathe, think, eat, talk at 6000m, nevermind climb up the steepest rock and ice faces ever 😅 BUT ~ we had to take our fears straight on and take one step at a time to make it to the top🔥 We couldn’t be any happier to have broken our elevation record of 5500m with this crazy 6088m summit in Bolivia 😍🔥
