It never made sense to me, mostly because of the sexual shame aspect. WHY would sexual pleasure between two consenting people be wrong? Seems to me those who control society and do the TRULY wicked things seek to convince us that our natural sexual desires are somehow wrong, so that we feel shame and doubt ourselves and are thus easier to control. They are the ones who should be ashamed for implanting such anxiety and self-loathing into our minds for simply following our instincts and doing what is natural. People like to say “well religion has a lot of good things that it teaches” and sure, it does. But I believe these things are innate within humanity and religion is just taking credit for them. We have oxytocin as a part of our genetic makeup. It’s a bonding chemical, and rewards us with good feelings and better health if we care for one another and show kindness. We are wired to be good to each other. ❤️
