My movies for Halloween.
🎃 First of all, I have to say that I enjoy films where external thrills, like jump scares, aren’t the main focus. I’m drawn to the artistic aesthetic of the movies, and if I had to pick just one favorite, I wouldn’t be able to because I love all of Tim Burton’s films.
🖤 His works are filled with darkness, fog, and coldness. They always feature a contrasting palette, and even when there are bright details, they are often overshadowed by dark spots. Sometimes, Burton creates a b&w world but populates it with vibrant characters that have unconventional appearances - sometimes monstrous and frightening, yet they are kind and beautiful. His stories are always touching and make me empathize; they feel personal.
💘 For me, Halloween is just like Burton’s films - it’s an opportunity to celebrate life and creativity, to embrace our fears and turn them into symbols of hope. I’m a playful romantic and a lover of visual storytelling, you know me well 😊
😈 Do you have any directors whose films you could binge watch and admire every single one?
