was so beautiful
they fought a war for her
bl00d soaked salty Greek beaches
for the sake of her
you could be my Helen
i’d fight for you
long and nasty and gristly wars
spend months away from home
watching my friends all die
hacked to bits
on foreign soil
let them send their strongest men
they will fall
and i will claw
the eyes from their heads
the organs from their bodies
for you, i’d let my own body
accumulate more scars
than the sky has stars
break every bone in three places
snap the sinew from my joints
i care not for my body
it is worthless, truly
is not everything worthless
without a lady to fight for
