small, but heavy,
printed on thick, expensive paper
(because i believe all aspects of my art
should be pleasurable)
bound softly
meant for gentle handling
and careful reading
(do read carefully)
don’t be alarmed
if there’s a gold chain
in the book
it’s not an accident
it’s not bribery
it’s just a gift
i hope it goes in the cabinet
with all the other things
you find precious
