for me, and for many chronically ill people, pain is a very familiar thing. something that tends to make us feel out of control, trapped in bodies that refuse to work as they “should”. pain, however, can be harnessed and be *quite* empowering when in controlled circumstances. pain from a set of pretty nails digging into my flesh is something controlled, that gives pleasure to myself and another. by reinventing my relationship with pain, i’ve achieved a much healthier agreement with my mortal vessel. huge fucking thank you to all the Dommes (and subs) whose words inspired me to take a look at my relationship with pain, who causes it, and who deserves a little ... extra.
