The first act of The Model introduces us to the visual language of b/w portrait photography of the 60s/70s, in these solo scenes the agency of the model high and the only focus is her own pleasure (with us as innocent voyeurs, of course..).
@em.onof has a timeless and natural beauty which really takes center stage in these shots, evoking the era of Old Hollywoood. For me as a filmmaker it was an absolute joy to play with the soft, yet contrasty lighting, shape the background and even snap some photos with my 50 y/o analogue camera (pics coming soon to the Legacy tier on Fan sly 💐).
Everyone who has seen the full film knows that even though the film starts with the model in this empowered state, she quickly becomes more and more objectified and pressured. Link in bio 🌟
