The skin is the largest organ of the body. I'd like to preface this little story by saying there's nothing wrong with wrinkles… If you live long enough to have them, congratulations!!!!!!! The point of my story is first of all, don't tell me you take great care of yourself and that everyone tells you you look 10-15 years younger than you are when you clearly did not take care of your skin. You don't get DEEP wrinkles from taking care of yourself ... either you were a sun worshipper, smoked, used drugs, and/or had a very hard life. But that's not what this woman was saying. She was saying her skin looked amazing and that she looked 10 years younger than she was. Which was clearly BS. That's my point. This happened at my grocery store checkout line a few years ago and is worth repeating. A very old woman is in line in front of me. She looks like she’s in her mid-80s. Inspiring!! Anyway, she turns to me and tells me how cute I look. My new short funky hair is barely brushed, and I'd only applied my spf moisturizer, brows and lippy with my amazing SeneGence products. My skin is luminous! I thank her very much and tell her it’s all because of SeneGence, which helps me age backwards!!! She asks me what SeneGence is and I tell her it’s vegan, cruelty-free, non-GMO, anti-aging color cosmetics. She defensively says she doesn’t wear makeup, as if her very wrinkled skin didn't need a LOT of help.. I add, “AND anti-aging skincare.“ She says “I don’t do ANY of that either. I’ve only used soap and water my whole life and I’m 68 years old and my friends all say that I look like I’m in my 50s.“ I think to myself, “your friends lie to you,” but I say, “can you imagine how amazing your skin would look if you’d taken even better care of it?” I don’t coddle. Then she defensively says, “well I take care of other parts of myself.” I think to myself “I highly doubt that, based on your skin AND based on what you’re buying right now.” You see, your SKIN speaks volumes about your self-care, self-love, and your lifestyle in general. By now the bagger and the cashier are checking me out and they too start telling me how cute I look, and at that point all three of them wanted my information, even the old woman who wasn’t an old woman at all - just someone who unfortunately never used proper skincare. Moral of the story: You're never too you*ng to start using skincare. I have t*een customers who use skincare because they're inspired by me and my gorgeous, smooth skin. #skincareforeveryone xo
