

Acceptance is when you look back and say to yourself, “I may not be okay with what happened. I may never be okay with it. However, there are new things and lessons in my mind and heart to take my attention and help me move forward. I will not allow these new things to force me to do anything I don’t want to. My choices are my responsibility and I am accountable for all my actions then, now, and moving forward.” Acceptance is both the present and leads to a brighter tomorrow even if the pain is still there. Acceptance is somehow knowing that that’s still okay.
