I made this bodice all by myself! Drafted the pattern from scratch and everything.
It took a few tries to get the fit just right. It's vaguely inspired by the Regency-era (mainly in the neckline) and has some personally satisfying details, such as the handmade fabric buttons and box pleats along the bottom hem.
I'm working on a simple, historical pirate shirt now, but taking my sweet-ass time with it. I'll show you when it's done!

I've wanted a mistress/governess dress for about as long as I've been a rubberist. Why the appeal? Aside from being a classic, old-school piece of fetishwear, the design of the high neck, puff sleeves, and ruffled accents are a nod to Victorian dress -- one of my top favorite times in fashion history.
