Added 2024-10-02 20:28:20 +0000 UTCI’m not sure there is any experience quite like raising a foal. It’s hard to describe it as anything less than witnessing a dream come to life. Astro is special for reasons beyond what I’ll share here, but as I watch him grow I see it all unfolding. He is not only growing in size, but developing into a wiser, yet more curious horse with age. He gives my life added purpose and trusts me with his safety. Yesterday he followed me onto the trailer just as he’s done since I taught him to load as a foal. For the first time I took it a step further and trailered him off property. It was gratifying watching him handle the unknown noises and the feeling of riding within a metal box on tires with confidence and poise. He shows me how animals and humans can communicate without being able to speak. It could be that horses and humans who find a connection may share trust in its truest form. My heart feels like he is something extra special. I know we have a fun future to look forward to together. 😍
