Been working out a LOT lately - and trying really hard to eat healthy and generally take care of myself (building good habits like meditating, walking at least 7,500 steps a day, etc). I wouldn’t say all my life problems and stress are fixed, but implementing these things into my life has been really good for my mental health, and while I still have a way to go with my weight loss target, I feel like I’ve gotten a litttleee bit stronger too.
The only thing I’m struggling with now is TIME… I realize how privileged it really is for people who are able to always do this consistently. For me, making my own healthy meals, exercising, going out and walking a lot as well as other things like finding time to read books and such…. It all takes up SO MUCH of my day. I’ve even been waking up in the mornings much earlier than I used to and I still feel like I quickly run out of time for anything else. Self care really feels like a full time job in a sense. I’m struggling to figure out how to create a work/life balance with all these things. By the time I get home from going places to do my walks or workouts, I have to cook dinner, then it gets late and I need to sleep by a reasonable hour to fix my sleep schedule… and im just like wow where does the time go. I’m trying to find more ways to balance my time so that I can also return to work full time while still keeping up with my habits. It’s tricky! How does one work full time, still get 8 hours of sleep, still have time to walk for 1-2 hours and workout several hours a week, cook, AND have time to maintain household things like cleaning, reading books etc.??? I’ve also had basically no leisure time for gaming or anything either 😂 still have yet to play FF7 rebirth!
Hopefully I can figure this out soon. I wanna post here more 😭😭😭😭
I am alive and back from hiatus! thanks so much to those of you who have stuck around while I was gone ❤️ I’m so sorry for disappearing, but I really needed the break. I was starting to feel the dreaded creator burnout, which wasn’t going well in tandem with the other challenges in my personal life that have come up. A lot of you have been asking how I’m doing, so I wanted to post this update real quick to let you know that I’m doing a lot better. I wouldn’t say my issues are now gone or completely fixed, but I am feeling well enough to come back on the internet again.
I’m hoping that moving forward I can come up with a good system for a better work/life balance. Social media is currently my main form of work and income source, so I do need to be more focused on consistency, but I don’t want to burn out again. My new challenge is to figure out how to make all this stuff work together. I’m also on a new fitness/weight loss journey which feels like it’s taking up a lot of my time, so I have to somehow fit that into everything too. Please be patient with me as I figure this all out ❤️ For the time being I’m going to only be back half time just to allow myself to go through the process of adding things into my schedule. Eventually I want it to ramp back up to full time, just in a more organized way.
I’ve still got some old projects I want to finish too, so I’ll probably be focused more so on catching up with that for now. once I’m in a good place there I want to up my game and focus more on quality and consistency over quantity. I keep posting these extremely large photosets that take forever to make, with 40+ photos in them sometimes. But I’ve realized that isn’t sustainable. I should be less worried about the number of photos in a set and more focused on making good content and posting it regularly.

y’all last night was an EXPERIENCE holy frick. since this month is my birthday month, I did an early birthday celebration last night with a few friends and I pretty much did the coolest thing possible… did you know that the actor ELIJAH WOOD is also a DJ???? Legit he’s in a DJ duo and they had a show last night in Seattle and it was WILD. Sooo much fun holy heck. We also had a tiny hotel party (today I’m doing onlyfans photoshoots all day in the hotel too) & ate at one of my fave restaurants. What a night. At the end of it I got a high five from Elijah and since he’s like one of my childhood heroes I’d say that was the best possible way to end the night. Here’s what I wore! also, quick thoughts on the game awards - I thought there were a lot of cool games showcased this year :0 I’ve seen a lot of people discuss how TGA kinda feels like it’s trying to be E3 nowadays. I more or less agree, I do wish they would make it a little bit more about the actual awards and game dev recognition. I felt like everyone was rushed off the stage during their speeches way way too fast. I think game devs deserve way more praise for their hard work, so that did read as a little disrespectful. Also there was a pretty big focus on Hollywood celebrities, which I don’t really love. I don’t think Hollywood actors should be excluded from the gaming world entirely, but it feels like a lot of games are trying to have a lot of big celebrities all the sudden for the purpose of hype and profit to promote to a more main stream, non gamer audience, and I don’t really love that. I don’t think Hollywood actors should take all the jobs from voice actors either. Other than that criticism, I loved the musical performances and the game presentations were pretty good. There’s a lot of games that were shown that looked very interesting to me and I felt some hype about some of the announcements. Overall I had a fun time watching, but I do think in the future they should make it less about Hollywood and ads, and more about the devs and the love of gaming.

hey friends - would you all mind a few late spooky season posts before I transition to holiday content? I originally had more stuff I wanted to post but the last few weeks ended up being a bit rough and not going as planned. But I’d still like to post a few more halloweeny things if that’s okay.
also thanks to everyone who sent nice messages about my dog passing this week ❤️ I’m really heartbroken about it. there’s been quite a few family and pet deaths in my life the past 2 years and it’s been really rough having them all happen at once.. but I guess dealing with death has also gotten a bit easier as a result. I’m grieving but I’m doing okay. That said, I’m ready for the year to come to its close. I’m not usually a huge Christmas person but I think I’ll actually try celebrating this year more than I usually do. Idk, I could just really use some cheerfulness and nostalgia right now ya know?
Just saw the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie last night and honestly… I didn’t think it was terrible, BUT I think it had a lot of missed potential which made it ultimately disappointing. Here’s a no spoiler review nobody asked for since I just sort of feel like talking about it but not into it enough to make a video on YouTube about it at the moment 😂 I’ve never done a FNAF costume so I’m accompanying my review with a ghost face look I did a few years back in honor of Matthew Lillard since he was the best part of the film by far and I still love his iconic performance in Scream to this day xD
So, FNAF has started to feel a lot less interesting for me in general over the past few years - a lot of the mystery and intrigue has become lost overtime since a lot of the horror elements that the franchise began with have been really dialed back in its most recent media. I have never been a super fan so some of my knowledge of the lore is lacking, but I’ve been a casual fan of FNAF for years, primarily for the first few games. I always thought these games had so much potential and truly contained some interesting horror elements. I also personally had a real life scary encounter with Chuck E Cheese animatronics when I was a munchkin that stuck with me all my life, so when horror games surrounding the idea of haunted animatronics came around it really spoke to me in some kinda creepy nostalgic sort of way. (By the way, my story is not incredibly exciting, but in my mind back then it was a super scary moment and I still think about how creepy it was occasionally. Let me know if you wanna hear that story in a future post sometime lol).
Anyways, I always thought the concept could make for an interesting set of films, so I was really intrigued by the news when it became official. Even though my general interest in the franchise hasn’t been as strong as it once was for a few years now, I could see the possibility of a really great horror film being brought to fruition. Unfortunately it ended up being pretty lackluster, and I think it’s because those earlier games gave me some pretty high expectations for what could be possible for something like this.
Credit where credit is due - I don’t think it’s a BAD film. I don’t think it’s really a great film either, but being an old fan of the games there were a few moments that made me smile since I was able to recognize certain references from the games. The general atmosphere of the pizzeria is pretty cool and decently spot on. Also, I am a major fan of practical effects and Jim Hensons creature shop who did the puppeteering for this, so seeing the animatronics walk around at that scale was such a joy. They do look quite cool, and I’m so glad the filmmakers decided to go practical on that.
All of that being said, this isn’t a good *horror* film. There’s not very much scary stuff that really happens, in fact there’s one scene where the animatronics are being nice suddenly, and while it is somewhat explained, it’s such a major 180 from the rest of the film it just doesn’t make all that much sense. After we see how murderous Freddy and friends are, now we see a random happy scene of them playing and having fun? And not in a creepy or ironic way? That scene realllly brought down the rest of the film for me. It has its plot reasons for happening (sort of) but I feel like if they really wanted to do that they could’ve gone down a different route that would make a lot more sense. Idk, if you see FNAF, you’ll know exactly when *that* scene comes up. It’s a bit of a cringe fest. Now, there are some kills that actually would have been REALLY cool had this been a rated R film. Unfortunately we really only see the build up to the kill, and most of the actual violence happens either off screen or is shown in shadows. Tbh this movie would be way more awesome if they totally went the saw route in the execution of some of these kills. There’s a couple of scenes where characters get trapped in a contraption that for whatever reason brought saw to mind. It just kept making me think how this movie would have just been so much better if they really leaned in to the scary elements of this franchise. I guess they wanted it to be suitable to a more family friendly audience, but it’s such a shame. I get that they wanted this movie to appeal to as many people as possible, but the problem is, this movie isn’t strong at accomplishing that. Fans of the franchise are for sure going to be wanting more, and new audiences who don’t know anything about FNAF probably won’t be super impressed or left understanding what the hype is all about.
Some quick things I liked - Josh Hucherson and Matthew Lillard CARRY this film on their backs. Really great performances from both. I wish we could’ve seen more of Lillard’s character throughout the film or explored a bit more of his backstory. There’s *supposedly* a three film contract he has signed so possibly we will get to see more in the future? Would love to have that backstory explored deeper one day. The movie had some cool visuals and sounds. Practical effects are always appreciated. I liked some of the ideas present in the story, and with better execution could have been some pretty neat ideas. Also there are some cool Easter eggs for fans including a cameo appearance from Mat Pat of Game Theory which was fun for me to see.
Things I didn’t like - FNAF has some pretty awesome iconic music and sounds already in the games and none of it was used until the ending credits. They went for a totally new soundtrack and new sounds as far as I can tell. We don’t even hear any of the iconic jumpscare sounds from the games. Freddy and friends also feel like they’ve lost some of their creepy personalities. There’s a few moments in the film that remind me of it, but in the games I feel they tease and mess with the player psychologically a lot more than in the film. Story execution and pacing was poor, there were neat ideas but not enough connective tissue to flesh it all out perfectly. A few lore changes from the games didn’t really hit for me as much as the original lore. And finally, no Markiplier. He actually was supposed to be in the film but there was too much scheduling conflict. What a horribly missed opportunity 😭
HOWEVER, honestly overall I did have fun watching the movie despite my nitpicks. It is really fun seeing these animatronics on the big screen, and it’s so cool to see an idea from an indie game grow into what is has become today (I do think it’s a bit over saturated nowadays but it’s kicked off such a pop culture phenomenon I can’t help but appreciate it). There’s some great acting here, a better script would’ve been so perfect for how well cast I’d say most of these characters are. I went with my brother and sister and we had a good time. It’s so hard to not think about what could’ve been knowing how cool some of the ideas from the games are, but if you go in without having high expectations and just enjoy it for what it is, you’ll have fun. I actually would recommend seeing it, especially before spooky season is over. I also hope they actually do make more films, I just hope the future films are better in execution!
October really is just flying on by once again 😅 only a week left to do all the rest of the spooky activities on my list. dunno if I’ll get to all of them at this point but hoping for maybe at least one other haunted house or two xD a late night graveyard stroll would also be lovely
