Halo all, well that was the first of my max #challengeweek and have to say I have mixed feelings. Was hoping for a little higher on some of these, but also felt a little underwhelmed with myself. I think I set the 3-5 reps too low as it left me feeling like I wasn’t trying. Even my active minutes by the end made me feel that. But still happy the #chestday and #tricepsday workout was complete. Halo all, to say I crushed todays #workout would be an understatement. I tried on whim just as before with my squats I tried my first shot at a 225 #deadlift. And with that said…YES! I’m on top of the world today. That 2/3 of my latest major #fitness goal. One more to go for an end of year try. Which truth be told I am not entirely sure I will make. Halo all, well night 2 is complete. That would be the #backday and #bicepsday routine and as far as the #workout goes. Wasn’t as great a burn as last night but the point is I made it in tonight to work. The assisted pull-ups went okay, I need max weight assistance but the shoulder pain wasn’t a hinderance so that’s a plus. As for the rest of it, I made over double digits in sets and am now thinking about the next workout with Cardio day and how to make that one more energetic. Halo all, I must say I feel amazing after this #legday #shouldersday. I was so tired by the end of it I felt I could’ve passed out on the gym mats lol. Halo all, well that is the last #chestday and #tricepsday workout of age 39. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t struggle through this one. It got to the point I needed the smith machine to get my sets of benching in. But, I made it none the less. I’m going say something that shocks myself. I’m liking this feeling, the feeling that for once I can see change in myself. I feel smaller around my waistline and I can see it. Halo all, well…it was a gruelling challenge. But I made it through #cardioday…in fact better than I thought I would. Last one at age 39 and well as annoying and as boring as they are. Playing catch up, my Sunday workout. Special birthday workout.
Halo all, well today was my special #workout. No specific type of workout day just my yearly tradition of my #birthday workout. Kinda the test the year older me and see what I can do a year older. Did a random exercises for each muscle group I could think of and have to say felt great after. Now tomorrow we go back to the usual routine, though I might start with swapping days now. Halo all, have to say as much as I’m not a fan of #cardioday. It’s nice to have it out of the way for the week. Only thing I can say in the negative about the #workout today, was the #shadowboxing. I was so out of breath after just three sets of that. Plus pretty sure I’m not shuffling correctly. So I’m going to stick to in place jabbing next time. As for the rest is was a great #calorieburn. Halo all, well thankfully was able to make the gym early on in the day. My #workout for today was my #chestday and #tricepsday day routine. Now I’m taking it easy as far as weight on benching. There is a part of me that feels weaker for it. But I’m letting the sensible part in the driver seat. Don’t let your ego kill your training. So with that I stuck to focus on reps and form. I think my form is slightly improving but I can say that I was starting to feel the strain in my shoulder as time went on. All in all though I felt great after this one. Halo all, well it’s done again. That dreaded day known as #cardioday. I tried the agility ladder and holy shit that is a mountain I’m not ready climb lol. So I swapped it for the #stairmaster and I lasted…3 damn minutes 😣. Still made it and I tried to do a #cooldown set tonight and hey was nice to just be on the bike and move at a calmer pace. I think this is how my #cardiodays will go just adding medicine ball and sledmill in occasionally to spice it up. Halo all, well first #cardioday of the year is done. Feeling okay about it, one thing I was thinking about while in the gym tonight. Was new faces, the people who start their year off by joining the gym. Now, one thing I will say, is I know the statistics. A lot of people quit the #gym a month or two after joining. I think a little pay it forward goal should be set by not only me but everyone. If you see a new face in your gym, extend a hello, show them what an awesome and welcoming new place it can be. Make them want to stay and come back to the glorious #houseofgains, there were quite a few who did this for me when I had my timid days. Show people what a great place to grow the gym can be, maybe even make a new friend or two. Halo all, I feel amazing to be back in the glorious #houseofgains. As stated earlier since last workout even though a week ago was a cardio day. It was too long without doing some strength training so I rocked #chestday and #tricepsday. I put a lot of effort in tonight to make up for the fact I missed this place too long. Now only thing I can say about tonight’s #workout that wasn’t great, was my single arm dumbbell incline. I could feel the struggle and as you can see it was definitely hard to do. Not sure why though, I mean it’s the same 50lb weight as I did on the flat chest press. But still made all the same. Looking forward to the workout tomorrow and getting back to my normal self there.
