B O D Y Align yourself: body, mind, and heart. There are three major components to creating alignment and your life your body, your mind, and your heart. The three are inter-dependent, so by caring for one, you and directly care for the others, which contributes to your sense of alignment. Envision a triangle. When one angle is pulled out of alignment, the entire triangle becomes misaligned. In the same way, when you neglect your body, your mind, or your heart, you become misaligned. Yoga can help you create and maintain alignment. It opens your body, which creates ease in your heart and mind. It relaxes your thinking, which releases tension and anxiety in your body and heart. It opens your heart, which helps you find comfort in your body and mind. Align yourself body, mind, and heart.

M I N D STAY GROUNDED WHILE GROWING Can you’ll be grounded and inspired at the same time? Can you stay centered while dreaming of greatness? Vrksasana is the Sanskrit name for Tree Pose. In Vrksasana, you plant 1 foot sturdily on the ground as if putting down roots, and brace your other foot against your leg. Then you reach your arms up towards the sky like branches. On and off the mat, you can remain grounded in who you are while continuing to grow and change. First, especially establish your foundation: this is who I am. Next, expand your potential: this is who I want to be. Look beyond the treetops of everything you know about yourself and dream!!

S P I R I T We are powerful. The power of our bodies enables us to move on our mats, to dance, to run, to celebrate our embodied experience. The power of our minds is equally important, generating creativity, ingenuity, insight, and wisdom. The power of our hearts enables us to give and receive love, to care for others and practice empathy in the world. The question is: How will you use your power? Generally, the more empowered we feel, the more likely we are to use our power towards positive ends. Today, take a note of someway you are powerful. Then use that power to offer others an experience of their empowerment, too.

B O D Y Good morning loves! Taking care of our bodies doesn’t have to be a huge daunting task so today I wanted to provide for you here several tiny self-care ideas for the body that you can start to incorporate today! 1. Give your body ten minutes of mindful attention. Use the body scan technique to check in with each part of your body. 2. Oxygenate by taking three deep breaths. Breathe into your abdomen, and let the air puff out your stomach and chest. 3. Get down and boogie. Put on your favorite upbeat record and shake your booty. 4. Stretch out the kinks. If you’re at work, you can always head to the bathroom to avoid strange looks. 5. Run (or walk, depending on your current physical health) for a few minutes. Or go up and down the stairs three times. 6. Narrow your food choices. Pick two healthy breakfasts, lunches, and dinners and rotate for the week. 7. Activate your self-soothing system. Stroke your own arm, or if that feels too weird, moisturize. 8. Get to know yourself intimately. Look lovingly and without judgment at yourself naked. (Use a mirror to make sure you get to know all of you!) 9. Make one small change to your diet for the week. Drink an extra glass of water each day, or have an extra portion of veggies each meal. 10. Give your body a treat. Pick something from your wardrobe that feels great next to your skin. 11. Be still. Sit somewhere green, and be quiet for a few minutes. 12. Get fifteeen minutes of sun, especially if you’re in a cold climate. (Use sunscreen if appropriate.) 13. Inhale an upbeat smell. Try peppermint to suppress food cravings and boost mood and motivation. 14. Have a good laugh. Read a couple of comic strips, call a good friend or simply watch a movie that you enjoy. 15. Take a quick nap. Ten to twenty minutes can reduce your sleep debt and leave you ready for action.

Without leaps of imagination or dreaming, we lose the excitement of possibilities. Dreaming, after all is a form of planning. -Gloria Steinem Intention is the starting point of every dream. It is the creative power that fulfills all of our needs, whether for money, relationships, spiritual awakening, or love. Setting an intention can be a very powerful manifestation practice in your life if utilized properly. Here are some tips for setting intentions: 1. Choose a broad, less specific goal for an intention than you would for a resolution: For example, improving health, lowering stress or becoming more mindful or present. 2. Get specific about ways to achieve that intention. For example, using less technology, spending more time in nature or meditating. 3. Plan how to incorporate those efforts into your regular routines. 4. Use a journal to make note of your intentions and your successes as the year continues. As always if you have any questions about intention setting or how to utilize this practice please D.M me for more information or coaching! xx Kay ✨

The benefits of sun gazing*** The sun has been the giver of light and energy since the dawn of time. Harnessing the power of the sun can help you heal and to transform both physically and spiritually. When first practicing sun gazing go to be with the light during the first hour of sunrise or the last hour of sunset. Use this time for self reflection and to notice any feelings that arise. You may also set an intention or offer a prayer, but most of all fill your heart with the gratitude that you have the breath in your lungs and that the sun has rose again. 🌅

B O D Y Your body is precious. It is our vehicle for awakening. Treat it with care! Your body is your home for this lifetime, so to take good care of it is an absolutely wise decision. What are some ways that you can take better care of your body this week? I am sure you can think of a few answers off of the top of your head. If not here are some of my favorites: Get enough rest! Your body needs to rest and repair during your sleep, getting a good 8 hours of rest at night can help keep you running optimally! Get enough water! Most people are chronically dehydrated make sure upon waking to drink (warm) water to cleanse and start your day! (I drink 1 liter every morning) Listen to pain! When something hurts, something somewhere has gone wrong, and your body is trying to tell you that. We often pay no attention to pain unless it becomes unbearable. LISTEN at the first sign. Don’t wait until that point, respect and honor your body and take care of it and it will keep you going for all the days of your life!

Remember, your brain is an enormous network of neurons. Each time you learn something new and practice it, your brain will either change the structure of its neurons (cells) or increase the number of synapses between your neurons, allowing them to send and receive information faster. By doing something as complex as learning a new language to just taking a different way home you are allowing your brain to build new pathways and slow the aging process! Life begins at the end of your comfort zone so try to do something new today ✨✨

B O D Y Get up and move!! When people get up and move, even a little, they tend to be happier than when they are sedentary, according to an interesting new study that used cellphone data to track activities and moods. Exercise is one of the most important treatment for anxiety, depression, and insomnia. Just moving your body will break up negative thoughts and boost serotonin. Move your body every day, just be mindful of your energy and never overdo it. A seven minute workout, just dancing, or yoga in your living room will all work. This movement medicine will give you the energy you need to conquer your day, to find what feels good, and to follow your destiny.

M I N D Mindset. Is. Everything. “Whether you think you can or think you can’t — you’re right,” -Henry Ford. You have much more power than ever believed to influence your physical and mental realities. Your mindset is not fixed. The idea that change is difficult is simply a mindset. Your mindset is recognized by your body — right down to the genetic level, and the more you improve your mental habits, the more beneficial response you’ll get from your body. You can’t control what has happened in the past, which shaped the brain you have today, programmed your cells, and caused certain genes to switch on. But, you do have the power today, right now and going forward to choose your perspective and behavior, which will change your brain, cells, and genes. Be bold, be willing and you can change your mindset and your life. By using your personal power of responsibility and choice, you can change your mindset and improve how you respond to every situation in life and work.

S P I R I T Spending time in nature has been shown to lower the levels of cortisol, a key stress hormone. The sights, sounds, and experiences associated with being in nature can have a soothing effect on your nervous system, slowing heart rate and normalizing respiration, 🩸 pressure, and several other key stress markers associated with the fight-or-flight response. In addition, natural settings are rich in primordial sounds, or the most basic and fundamental sounds of nature. These sounds are intrinsically calming and nurturing, helping your mind and body slip into a more healthy and balanced state. To make the most of being out of doors and in nature, you need to make it a conscious, intentional act. Take some time this week to appreciate the interaction between your body, the planet, and the cosmos. 🌎 👫🏽✨

Calcium, magnesium and potassium penetrate the skin helping us come alive. Statistics show an estimated 80 percent of Americans are magnesium deficient thanks to agricultural practices that strip it from our soil, stress and our poor modern diets. (Over fed and under nourished) Taking a salt bath once a week can certainly help to improve those levels. Salt also acts as a powerful detoxifier and purifier hoping to clear up skin conditions and kill bacteria. What are you waiting for, hop in today!!

M I N D Ground down to fly high! After the highlife of summer we greet Autumn with open hearts and open arms. Now is a return back to ourselves as we re-commit to daily practices and habits we are reminded the simple things we do each day can add up to a state of higher health. One of my favorite ways to incentivize and commit to a pattern of good behavior is to bet on it. Find a friend with a similar goal and come up with a plan. Maybe you both want to work out five days a week. Commit to each other and decide on the stakes if either of you comes up short. The point of the bet is for no one to lose. But knowing that you may spend the day cleaning your friends apartment might get you to the gym. We are as good as the people who surround us so to reach our highest state we must make a conscious choice to align ourselves with the best and the brightest. When you create competition your odds for winning soar, especially when you are on the same team! 😉

S P I R I T Keep looking for life’s sweetness This ritual can help us to experience life’s sweetness and blessings while simultaneously cultivating a sense of gratitude. It’s easy to see the negative and the dirt in life but the real trick is to find the gold or the sweetness in everything. Our minds constantly are critiquing and falling into a pattern of criticizing and reacting negatively, it’s important to realize that this is a choice and that you can change it. If you have to choose between focusing on negative qualities and focusing on positive qualities why would you choose anything but the positive. When we look for life‘s sweetness, we find it. This is not to say that everything is sweet, or that we shouldn’t speak out when it isn’t. However in an everyday sense, ask your self at any given moment: where is the gold? How can I invite the experience of sweetness more deeply into my life?
